Symptom
User get the error "NAT-T support is required to connect from this location and your system does not support it. To connect from this location you must upgrade your system" when attempting to connect from a Windows 2000 system.
Explanation
Some Windows 2000 clients require a NAT-T hotfix from Microsoft to allow IPSec to work across Network Address Translation (NAT) boundaries.
Resolution
The required fix can be downloaded from Microsoft at http://catalog.update.microsoft.com (Windows Update Catalog). Enter 818043 as the search term and you will be provided with a link to the NAT-T update.
