I cannot connect to my local network when connected to the VPN. What is wrong? |
I cannot connect to my local network when connected to the VPN. What is wrong?
1) Check that "split-tunnelling" is not disabled for your user on the Administration site.
-
Login to the administration site at www.accessmylan.com
-
Click on Users and then your username.
-
Expand the Network Access Policy section.
-
Ensure that the box beside "Allow Internet Access while connected" is ticked.
2) If you are connecting from a network which uses a private address range, traffic for your local network may be mistakenly sent down the VPN tunnel. To prevent this you will need to add "route exceptions" to the VPN client, to indicate what traffic should not go down the VPN tunnel.
To add route exceptions to the VPN client:
-
Launch the VPN client and click on the Settings button.
-
Select the Routing tab.
-
Add the IP address of any local machines that you need to access to this list.
